FACEON Magazine brings you the hottest tips to keep you on your toes! Stay on trend with this fun and fashionable twist on the basic French plait, a hairstyle that’s quick and easy to do on all hair types...
Side French Plaits
Find your natural parting and separate your hair in two halves from the crown to the nape of your neck (if you have any shorter pieces of hair that may not reach the centre back, go for a straight, middle parting). Clip one side out of the way for later. Begin the first plait by dividing the loose half into three sections at the front hair line.
Start off as you would for a basic French plait and when you reach the nape, remove the clip from the other side and use it to hold the plait in place while you do the second side the same. Once you have both sides plaited as far as the nape, combine both plaits together and continue until you reach the ends. Secure with a band.
If your hair is shorter, secure with the band at the nape and tuck it under itself, holding the hair in place with a few pins. You can add a little hairspray first to make the hair stay in place, or spray as you go. Hair that hasn’t been washed for a couple of days tends to be easier to work with as it will have slightly more texture and hold.
To complete the look FACEON recommends,
Lips: Barry M Lip Paint (in 54 Peach) which is a bright medium orange, and Revlon (in Siren), a bright orange with coral undertones.
Eyes:For the ‘doe-eyed’ look, try Benefit Bad Gal Lash, one of our personal favourites!
Cheeks:For the fresh and innocent look, go for Barry M Beauty Peachy Glow – it’s super vibrant yet soft
