Best of British
Britain has long since abandoned its stiff upper lip transforming itself into a nation of open-minded, flexible, well educated go-getters.
Britain's position as an island has fostered the kind of independent and creative thinking that leads to original ideas, inventions, and discoveries, and some of the most creative photography and make-up art the world has ever seen.
FACEON Magazine takes a proud and patriotic journey with Photographer, Ema Suvajac and Make-up Artist, Carrie Tibbs through their latest vision. Carrie tells us how exactly how the make-up was achieved:
The Tutorial:
"Before applying the make-up, start by cleansing and moisturising the face, ready for your base. Use Make Up For Ever HD Invisible Cover Foundation and apply evenly over the face and neck for an oil-free, medium-to-full coverage. It has an extremely fine texture enriched with moisturizing agents so it leaves the skin feeling soft and radiant.
Eliminate any dark circles and blemishes using MAC Select Moisturecover concealer - gently patted under the eyes and along the sides of the nose. You can layer it up for added coverage where needed; it’s great for any line-softening and skin-perfecting.
Prime the eyes using Too Faced Shadow Insurance eye primer over the entire lid. This silicone-based eye shadow primer transforms any eye shadow into a perfectly blendable, colour-drenched and intensified version of itself - it then locks it down perfectly until you take it off.
Say goodbye to those fading, creasing, melting, blurring oil-slicked and hard-to-blend eye shadow accidents!
Next, apply MAC Eye Shadow (in Blanc Type) over the entire lid and blend well. Use a darker shade of MAC Eye Shadow (in Kid) on the crease of the lid for added depth.
To truly accentuate and brighten the eyes, apply a stroke of MAC Chromaline eyeliner (in Pure White) along the top and bottom of the lash line. The waterproof cream liner creates precise, long-lasting colour with a dense matte coverage.
To refine the liner, use Make Up For Ever Pure Pigment (in 0 – White), layering the fine powder along the lash line and blend it to perfection.
For the eyebrows, use MAC Eye Shadow (in Brun) to fill in and create the perfect shape.
From here and for a super dramatic, wide-eyed look, apply a pair of NYX False Lashes along the top lashes only, followed by a touch of Maybelline Great Lash Mascara (in Blackest Black) to bind your natural lashes and the falsies together.
Contour the cheeks using MAC Powder Blush (in Ambering Rose), sweeping along the hollows of the cheeks and blending up and out towards the temples.
Finish the look with the perfect pout. Using the MAC Lip Pencil (in Cherry), take your time to contour and shape the lips and then completely fill them."
