Cinderella
Who needs a magic wand when you have the power of a make-up brush? Beautiful make-up is easy to achieve with the correct guidance.
Gemma Morpurgo is on hand as your Fairy Godmother to tell you an enchanting tale of how to recreate the Cinderella Look.
The Skin
“Every princess needs flawless skin. Use MAC Brush (188) to apply MAC Studio Fix fluid Foundation to the whole face ensuring that you have covered all areas. MACStudio fix fluid is buildable and offers medium coverage making it ideal for hiding any blemishes, resulting in a long lasting natural matt complexion.
The Eyes
Unlike a traditional smoky eye this look has a contemporary twist boasting smudged, unclean lines and an air of untidiness. Begin by using Lorac’s Behind the Scenes Eye shadow to create a smooth base around the eyes, focussing on the lids. The gentle, lightweight formula glides on easily for a crease resistant colour that lasts, even after the stroke of midnight!
Next, apply Sephora Eye shadow (Violator) to the eyelids ensuring that you do not overload the brush as these shadows provide great colour payoff. Once you are happy, apply Sephora Eye shadow (Ace of Spades) to the socket line and work up towards the inner brow area. Apply this shadow liberally and ensure even coverage to create a deep mysterious look. Now work Sephora Eye shadow (Caravaggio) through the eyebrows using MAC Brush (223) making sure you fill in any spaces and define the brow into a bold, angular shape.
To frame and highlight the eyes blend Sephora Eye shadow (Heavens) along the outer brow bone.
To create the feline appearance, use MAC Fluidline (Blacktrack) and MAC Eyeliner Brush (210) to wing the liner out at the outer corners and sweep into the inner corners. Add MAC Kohl Eyeliner (Smoulder) to the water and lower lash line use and feather using MAC Brush (219). Now press a little Sephora Eye shadow (Ace of Spades) along the lower lash line to achieve the ‘worn out’ smoky eye we desire.
Complete the eyes by applying MAC False lashes Mascara. This fledgling mascara benefits from an ultra-thick formula giving great volume and shape.
The Cheeks
With the eyes finished its time to switch those cheeks on! Use MAC Brush (217) to apply Bobbi Brown Blush (Pale Pink) to the cheekbones and begin to blend down the cheeks. As you approach the apples of the cheeks use MAC Brush (129) and a little more product to buff into a warm glow.
The lips
Put the icing on the cake by lining the lips using MAC (Spice) Lipliner and then apply a generous coating of MAC (velvet teddy) Lipstick.
Voila, the fairy-tale ‘Cinderella’ look is complete and all you need now is a Prince to take you to the ball!"
